Sanjiang Normal School open course on business discipline.

1917

Nanjing High Normal School (1915-1923) set up business course.

The Department of Economics was available in National Central University and National Jinling University, the precedents of Nanjing University.

1952

Nanjing University merged with National Jinling University. During the realignment of departments and schools of colleges and universities, the Department of Economics was moved to Fudan University.

1978

Nanjing University resumedDepartment of Economics.

1986

Department of Management was established.

1988

The International Business School of Nanjing University was established, includingDepartment of Economics, Department of Business Management, Department of International Trade,Department of Economic Policy Making, Population Research Institute and Economic Technology Laboratory.

1989

Department of International Trade andDepartment of Business Management were renamedDepartment of International Economics and Trade and Department of International Enterprise Management respectively.

1993

Department of International Accounting andDepartment of International Finance were established.

1997

Department of International Accounting was renamed Department of Accounting. Department of International Finance was renamed Department of Finance, and Department of International Enterprise Management was renamed Department of Business Administration.

2000

The International Business School was renamed the Business School and consisted of Department of Economics, Department of Business Administration, Department of International Economics and Trade, Department of Accounting, Department of Finance and Population Research Institute, etc.

2001

The Department of E-commerce was established.

2003

The Department of Marketing was established.

2006

The School of Economics and the School of Management were established. The School of Economics consists of Department of Economics, Department of International Economics and Trade, Department of Finance and Population Research Institute; the School of Management consists of Department of Business Administration, Department of Accounting, Department of E-commerce and Department of Marketing.

March 2007

The Department of Industrial Economics and the Department of Human Resource Management were formally established, and the Department of Finance was renamed the Department of Finance and Insurance.

July 2013

The Department of E-commerce and the Department of Marketing were merged and renamed the Department of E-commerce and Marketing.
